This class integrates alignment of postures, with attention to breath and movement, to bring a deep release of tension in muscle and connective tissues. Students are guided safely through the postures while maintaining focus on the breath and self body. Visualization, themes and sensory mindfulness are introduced to deepen your mind-body connection. Balance your endocrine, nervous and circulatory systems to reduce stress, while building strength and flexibility.

All levels welcome:
Whether you are a beginner wanting to learn fundamentals of postures or a more experienced student wanting a slower practice to explore the subtleties of each posture, this class is for you. Suitable modifications for each asana will be offered for different levels of ability."

Instructor: Michael Aquino (Mike), CYT Mike first discovered yoga in 2001 when searching for a practice to heal athletic injuries. His passion for health and wellness has lead to many years of study in movement, meditation and healing arts. In 2008, he completed an intensive 2 year certification in muscular therapy and massage. It was then that he discovered Anusara Yoga, which profoundly changed his yoga practice both on and off the mat. Michael has completed an extensive 300- hour Anusara Teacher Training program with Todd Norian and Ann Greene. As well, he has studied with many other Anusara teachers for 3 years, growing both as a student and a therapist from their unique teachings. He is dedicated to continue learning and sharing all that yoga has to offer with much gratitude in his heart for the supportive yoga community.

Mike brings adept anatomical alignment and intuitive awareness to his teachings. His classes are energetic with a balance of challenge and fun. He strives to help each student find their personal practice safely and effectively. He enjoys teaching the therapeutic capabilities of yoga as well as the centering and uplifting effect of the practice.

In his spare time, Mike delights in outdoor activities and exploring nature.
